Plans to bring in parking charges across Kirklees’ towns and villages have been paused after a negative response from the public and councillors.
Kirklees Council raised parking charges across Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Holmfirth, with the cost of all-day parking rising to £6.50 in some locations.
It is also proposing to introduce fees at car parks that are currently free.
