Easing of COVID restrictions sees local authorities issue 25% more national disabled parking permits, says DfT

Over 1 million Blue Badges were issued in the year ending March 2022, an increase of 25.7% on the previous year, a new Department for Transport bulletin reveals.

Disability, accessibility and Blue Badge statistics: 2021 to 2022 reveals that at 31 March 2022 some 2.44 million Blue Badges were held, an increase of 3.6% since March 2021. This means  4.3% of the population held a Blue Badge, according to Disability, accessibility and Blue Badge statistics: 2021 to 2022.
