English local authorities can now apply to the Government to use ANPR cameras to enforce a range of moving traffic offences. The councils will be able to issue penalty charge notices (PCNs) to those driving into a bus lane, stopping in a yellow box junction, making banned right or left turns, illegal U-turns and driving the wrong way in a one-way street.
