A police officer who had to chase two men wanted after an assault returned to find an angry note pinned to his patrol vehicle.

Hampshire Constabulary said it was called out after staff at the nearby Kings Arms pub were attacked. One responding officer parked his car on a side street in Lymington, Hampshire.

On returning to his vehicle, having pursued the offenders, arrested them and having been assaulted, he located a note written on kitchen paper attached to his car.
