Liverpool City Region has been awarded £12m by the DfT to invest in segregated cycling tracks and footways as well as Low Traffic Neighbourhoods. The Active Travel Fund grant comes in addition to the £30m already invested by mayor Steve Rotheram and the combined authority in new walking and cycling infrastructure.
There will be funding for junction improvements across the city region’s six boroughs – Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral.
