Consultations on measures to help local authorities tackle air pollution

The UK government has launched two consultations on proposals to make it easier for local authorities to tackle poor air quality in their areas.

The first consultation seeks views on increased engagement between local authorities and the communities that they serve, and an increased focus on the impact of air quality on people’s health.

It is expected that reduced exposure to air pollution will prevent thousands of cases of heart disease, strokes, asthma and lung.
