Burnham announces lower fares as part of franchising

Bus fares in Greater Manchester are to be cut, with no adult single journey costing more than £2, as part of plans to introduce a franchise bus network across the region. Currently, there are a range of adult single bus fares, some costing as much as £4. Under the changes to fares, which will be phased in as bus franchising is rolled out, single child journeys will be no more than £1.
