Belfast to Dublin train frequency could increase next year

Train service frequency on the Belfast to Dublin main line could increase next year, several years earlier than the proposed hourly timetable.

The Enterprise service operates two-hourly for most of the day, a poor frequency for European cities of such size and importance. Translink and Irish Rail, which jointly operate the service, aim to move to an hourly frequency in 2026 or 2027, when new trains are introduced.
