Die-cast models of cars are evolving in the same way their real world counterparts, with Matchbox launching a series of model electric vehicles.
Toymaker Mattel says it wants the new range to raise awareness among children of the environmental impact of motoring.
The Tesla Roadster will be the first Matchbox die-cast model made from 99% recycled materials. Models of BMW, Nissan and Toyota cars as well as scaled-down EV charging stations will follow.
