A lack of parking was cited as a reason for an affordable housing scheme on Merseyside being refused planning permission.

SAFE Regeneration, a social enterprise and arts organisation, has proposed creating the residential development in Bootle, Sefton.

The masterplan drawn up by Ellis Williams Architects (EWA) comprises 107 affordable family homes, an 80-bed extra care facility, an arts hub and a nursery.
