There are now more than 20,000 public electric vehicle chargepoints in the UK, they are unevenly distributed across the country, figures published by the Department for Transport (DfT) reveal. A total of 4,270 new chargepoints were installed in 2020, an increase of 26%. Of the 20,775 plug-in points now available, 3,880 have been categorised as ‘rapid’ devices, with a 37% increase in installations in the last year.
