Loans to fossil fuel companies defended

The government has defended its decision to give  fossil fuel companies financial support during Covid-19. 

Climate litigation charity Plan B is pursuing a judicial review challenge to the Bank of England’s decisions to provide loans from the Covid Corporate Financing Facility (CCFF) to fossil fuel companies such as RyanAir, Easyjet, Rolls Royce and Nissan (LTT 24 Jul).
