Dartford Borough Council moves to RingGo cashless parking

Dartford Borough Council is switching to RingGo as its new cashless parking provider. The Kent council had previously used the Parkmobile service.

Dartford becomes the 10th council in Kent to offer RingGo alongside: Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and Hythe, Gravesham, Maidstone, Medway, Swale, Thanet and Tunbridge Wells.

Motorists can use the RingGo app to map parking spaces, navigate to bays and pay for parking. Motorists can extend their stay via their smartphone after they have found and parked in an available space.

Council leader Jeremy Kite said: “The introduction of cashless parking using RingGo ushers in a new system of convenience for local motorists where they no longer need to remember to start and stop their parking, but pay each time they park. The aim is to alleviate stress for commuters and shoppers in the area and let drivers benefit from enhanced transport solutions.”

Peter O’Driscoll, UK managing director, RingGo, said: “Having Dartford join many other local Kent councils in partnering with RingGo is another string to our bow. “With RingGo offered across many Kent councils, Dartford Borough Council will benefit from RingGo’s consumer marketing that has been on-going during 2020.”

There will be a 20p convenience fee and a 10p fee per update text messages when using RingGo’s parking solutions.

Drivers who park in Dartford can get VAT receipts for all parking sessions either through the free RingGo parking app, or on the website. People who park for business can check out the RingGo Corporate solution for business parking at RingGo.co.uk/corporate.
