Parking operator Saba is to introduce a subscription-based payment system used at a multi-storey car park serving the Canary Wharf district of east London.

Saba has awarded Scheidt & Bachmann UK a contract to supply its evopark Go subscription service system for use at the 558-space West India Quay car park.

The five-year contract will see evopark GO complement a recently installed Scheidt & Bachmann entervo.ticketless payment solution at the car park.

West India Quay is evopark’s first order for an evopark GO solution outside Germany.

The subscription-based package will allow motorists to register three credentials via the internet to experience frictionless ‘drive in/drive out’ parking.

After registering their car’s licence plate, credit/debit card number and email address online, drivers will be able to enter and leave the car park with their registered vehicle and pay cashlessly.

On arrival, the barrier will raise and an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) camera will acknowledge the time of the subscriber’s entry. On exit, the ANPR camera will close the visit and the time spent is charged automatically to the driver’s registered debit or credit card.

Saba can also opt to send arriving guests a “welcome to West India Quay” e-mail advising them of local promotions and events via the evopark GO solution.

Scheidt & Bachmann UK’s managing director Alan Grix said: “We are delighted to be the first territory outside of Germany to adopt and launch the evopark solutions recently added to Scheidt & Bachmann’s portfolio.”

Christian Grzona, marketing and sales director at evopark, said: “We would like to thank Scheidt & Bachmann UK for its support in rolling out our solution and Saba for the trust they put in us.”

Launched in 2014, evopark focusses on digital end-to-end products for parking operators and mobility providers and has developed digital parking solutions such as car-makers Daimler or Porsche.

Besides entry and exit and cashless payment in car parks, evopark provides software-as-a-service products for the management of short-stay and long-term parkers. Mobility providers use evopark MOBILITY CONNECT to offer their customers digital, innovative parking services.

Scheidt & Bachmann Group acquired evopark in 2018.
