Tunbridge Wells car parks to be sold to developers

Two car parks in Tunbridge Wells are to be sold off to developers to finance repairs to the town hall and theatre. Borough councillors have presented a cross-party report outlining plans to sell off a pair of car parks – Great Hall and Mount Pleasant – that sit next to Calverley Grounds. The car parks had been earmarked to have a new civic and theatre complex called Calverley Square built on them. However, Calverley Square development was scrapped in October.
