Essex County Council has dismissed the results of its own survey suggesting that most English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) pass-
holders will cease using park-and-ride services at Chelmsford and Colchester when a £1.50 charge is introduced.
Councillors last month approved the introduction of charges from 1 April for older people who have an ENCTS pass. Disabled passholders will continue to benefit from free use of the service after 9am.
