A third of English hospitals ‘increased parking charges’, reveals Press Association survey

NHS hospitals across England generated £254m from parking charges during 2018-19, a survey by the Press Association (PA) has revealed. This is up from £232m the year before.

The PA used the Freedom of Information Act to obtain data from more than 140 NHS trusts. The survey revealed that a third of hospitals in England put up car parking charges last year, with total income rising by 10%, an investigation shows. Hourly charges varying between £4 and £1 for an hour.
