Government to introduce free NHS hospital parking across England for patients, staff and carers in ‘most need’

Disabled people, frequent outpatient attenders, parents of sick children staying overnight, staff working night shifts and those regularly needing appointments will not have to pay for NHS car parking from April 2020, says the government. Hospital parking emerged as an issue during the general election. While Labour had proposed ending all hospital charges, the Conservatives have proposed free parking for those with the greatest need.
