Cumbria County Council has opened a temporary surface car park in the centre of Carlisle.
The car park is located on Bush Brow near the train station and will provide additional capacity as the use of rail transport is expected to increase.
The site provides spaces for 93 vehicles, with seven disabled spaces, two electric vehicle charging points and cycle parking.
The council expects the car park to be used by both shoppers and rail travellers using the station.
