A new integrated bus and Tyne and Wear Metro interchange has opened serving South Shields in South Tyneside. The £21m facility on Keppel Street is about 100 metres from the old Tyne and Wear Metro station. The station includes bike storage and waiting areas. It is expected that the interchange will be used by an estimated seven million passengers a year....
