Croydon set to expand School Streets scheme

Croydon Council is set to expand its programme of creating School Streets, pedestrian zones that operate during the school run period.

Up to eight new School Streets could be introduced after the idea received nearly 70% positive feedback in a public consultation.

The scheme would cover 12 schools, building on the successful pilots at three schools that led to 250 fewer children travelling to school by car.
