A new exhibition charts the changing face of Leeds city centre’s first purpose-built shopping centre. The Merrion Centre was opened Town Centre Securities (TCS) in May 1964.
The mall was novel in featuring an integrated multi-storey car park, which continues to be operated by TCS under the CitiPark banner.
The shopping centre was opened with a golden key on 30 May 1964 by Dr Marjorie Ziff, wife of the late Arnold Ziff, founder of Town Centre Securities (TCS).
