Smile, emoji licence plates are thing now

Personalised number plates are one way of making a statement, but for drivers of the social media age something extra is needed. How about adding emojis to the mix!

This is now an option for drivers in Queensland, Australia, who can now add smiley faces to their vehicle number plates.

While there are many different emojis, only positive faces are being allowed, with drivers limited to the classic smiley face, laughing out loud, winking face, cool sunglasses and heart eyes emojis.
