Street designer and ‘shared space’ advocate Ben Hamilton-Baillie has died from cancer at the age of 63. Paying tribute to his work, Martin Cassini, who campaigns for traffic system reform, said: “Ben coined the term ‘shared space’, later preferring ‘low-speed environments’.
