Drug dealers in an east London borough are having their cars stopped and removed as part of Tower Hamlets Council’s work with police to clamp down on the sale and supply of drugs.

Council officers used CCTV to identify drug dealing activity and alert the Metropolitan Police last month. Dealers that have outstanding car parking fines can return to find their car has been moved to the local car pound. The new approach saw three cars stopped and one removed in one week alone.
