Cars set on fire beneath St Albans apartments

Two people were arrested after 10 parked vehicles were set alight in an apartment building car park in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

Cars in Hillside Road and the underground car park in Newsom Place in St Albans were torched between 2am and 3am on Saturday 16 February. The apartments above the car park had to be evacuated for safety reasons.

The blaze caused significant damage to the road surface along with the underground pipe network, including sewerage pipes.
