Westminster councillors have approved proposals to demolish a Brutalist car park in London’s Marylebone area to make way for a luxury hotel. The fate of the iconic Welbeck Street multi-storey was sealed when the local authority’s planning committee decided to approve the redevelopment by Shiva Hotels on 5 February.

The car park will be replaced with a 10-storey luxury hotel with 205 rooms, a rooftop swimming pool with bar, and a ground-floor restaurant.A design by Eric Parry...
