A proposed tram-train service between Glasgow Airport and Glasgow city centre has been dropped because it would cause unacceptable disruption to existing rail services. 

The plan would have seen a new rail spur built between the airport and Paisley where the tram-train vehicles would join the existing Network Rail tracks to Glasgow Central. The project was earmarked £138m from the £1.13bn Glasgow city region deal struck between councils, the UK and Scottish governments in 2014....
