UK motorists racked up £4.2m in fines during 2017 for abusing disabled parking bays, new research reveals. The survey by Confused.com suggests a total of 97,138 parking notices were issued to drivers caught misusing the UK’s 42,000 council-operated disabled spaces.
The figures do not include notices issued to drivers caught in non-council bays, such as those in private car parks and supermarkets.
