English local authorities are generating a significant surplus from their parking management and enforcement activities, says the RAC Foundation.
Councils in England have seen their parking surpluses rise by almost a third (32%) over the past four years, the motoring body says. Total income from both on-street and off-street parking activity was £1.66 billion in 2017-18. Total expenditure was £793m.
