Issuing parking patrol officers with body-worn cameras has led to a dramatic reduction in assaults in Ipswich over the past year.
Verbal assaults on parking staff dropped to 12 in 2018, a 66% reduction, while just one civil enforcement officer (CEO) has been physically assaulted since the cameras were brought in.
According to figures obtained by the Ipswich Star through a Freedom of Information request, physical and verbal assaults on CEOs were at their highest between 2015 and 2017.
