Volkswagen has unveiled the electric drive system underpinning a new family of vehicles that will go into production next year.

The ID. range will use the modular electric drive matrix (MEB), a technology platform developed by VW for electric vehicles. Production of the Volkswagen ID. will begin at its Zwickau plant at the end of 2019.
