Something strange happened on kerbsides and in car parks across the globe on 21 September. Spaces normally used by cars were filled up with chairs, rugs, potted plants and pets. The simultaneous transformation of parking bays into, well, people places in towns and cities around the globe on Friday 21 September was a sign that it was PARK(ing) Day.

PARK(ing) Day was launched in 2005 in San Francisco by a design collective called Rebar, which took over a parking bay for a couple of hours to show...
