Citizens Advice calls to kerb bailiffs

Citizens Advice is calling for better regulation of bailiff firms as it claims households have fallen behind on their essential bills, such as Council Tax and utilities, by an estimated £18.9 billion. The charity suggests that debt levels have risen by 40% over the past five years, when £13.5bn was owed in 2011-12. Citizens Advice reports that it has seen a significant rise in the proportion of calls it receives for help regarding bailiffs, now known as civil enforcement agents....
