Rutland County Council has saved almost £150,000 by re-running a tender for one of the area’s most popular bus services.
The council has handed Centrebus a five-year contract for the Rutland Flyer route (RF1) between Melton Mowbray and Corby via Oakham and Uppingham. The contract value is £122,000 a year.
The original tender attracted only one bidder, Stagecoach, with a bid of £270,840.
