Portsmouth cracks down on parking fraudsters

City clocks up 100th successful parking prosecution

Portsmouth City Council has undertaken its 100th successful prosecution for parking fraud. Since 2009 the authority’s civil enforcement team has been pursuing people attempting to avoid paying penalty charge notices, abusing parking permits and misusing disabled Blue Badges in order to park for free.

The average fine imposed on each offender has been £500.
