Scottish pavement parking ban draws closer

Parking, cycling and walking bodies welcome legislation

The Transport (Scotland) Bill will introduce a national ban on pavement and double parking to make it easier for local authorities to ensure pavements and roads are  safer and more accessible. 

The Bill states: “The Scottish Government’s intention is to undertake a nationwide publicity campaign involving local authorities, Police Scotland and other stakeholder groups prior to the commencement to ensure there is widespread awareness of the new prohibitions.”
