‘Half-on half-off’ pavement idea tested in Bath

A trial of a potential solution to pavement parking has taken place in Bath. Parking bays that straddle the street and footpath have been painted by Bath and North East Somerset Council at the suggestion of a councillor who had received complaints from residents about drivers parking fully on the pavement. 

Previous proposals to solve the problem on Caledonian Road included narrowing the pavements, but this idea was scrapped because of utility services underground.
