A majority of the public supports the idea of driverless vehicles using town and city streets, as long as they are safe and protected from computer hacking, a study conducted in London has found. The team behind the GATEway (Greenwich Automated Transport Environment) Project presented a summary of findings from its three-year research programme last month. The research was conducted by consultant TRL, the University of Greenwich, ideas-hub Commonplace and the Royal College of Art.
