Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has found that a former deputy leader breached its code of conduct by selling public toilets at a discount and trying to cancel parking tickets for family members. The West Midlands’ authority’s standards committee members found Cllr Mahboob Hussain has brought the council into disrepute.
The hearing last month ruled Mr Hussain ignored a £130,000 valuation of public toilets and instead sold them for £35,000 to a family friend.
