Smart parking aims to make finding and paying for a space less time consuming, easier and more efficient. It has seen mobile apps come to the fore as the primary means to communicate with the driver in real-time: for making payments; receiving reminders; and for sending updates on the parking status to allow penalties to be issued accurately.
