Aberdeenshire Council reviewing on-street parking decriminalisation

Aberdeenshire Council is considering decriminalising parking enforcement in town centres across the north-east of Scotland.

Towns in Aberdeenshire include Peterhead, Inverurie, Fraserborough and Stonehaven.

The local authority has control over car parks, but regulation of kerbside parking rests with Police Scotland. However, a growing number of Scottish local authorities are taking over parking enforcement as the number of traffic wardens fielded by the police service has been cut.
