A rapid on-street charger that can top up an electric vehicle in around 30 minutes, rather than several hours, has been installed by Islington Council. The borough hopes the fast charging time will appeal to motorists, particularly couriers, cabbies and other commercial drivers.

Over the course of the next year, 100 roadside charging points are being installed across the north London borough.
