Chester's 'Free after 3' parking scheme scrapped

Cheshire West and Chester Council has scrapped the ‘Free after 3’ discount parking scheme that operated across Chester city centre. A study by consultants Mott MacDonald suggested that ‘Free after 3’ added to the evening congestion, and that as the majority of trips were short-stay they were of only a limited benefit to the local economy.
