Electric vehicles could require an additional 18GW of power by 2050, predicts National Grid

The UK’s power networks will have to cope with 90% of the country’s cars being pure electric vehicles by 2050, predicts the National Grid. The company, which runs the UK’s national transmission networks for electricity and gas, makes the prediction in its latest annual Future Energy Scenarios report.
