A ‘green screen’ designed to combat poor air quality has been installed at a primary school in Brixton, south London.

The ivy hedge, created by Lambeth council alongside the playground St Helen’s Catholic Primary School, is designed to block harmful toxins from the heavily polluted Brixton Road. 

Research shows that green screens lower both particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide exposure.
