Liverpool John Lennon Airport is now using a camera system to detect drivers trying to avoid paying for parking by tailgating when leaving its barrier-controlled car parks. Besides representing a loss of revenue, tailgating causes safety issues as drivers seeking to cheat the car park have to race to beat the barrier to avoid payment.
Problems with tailgating in its car parks meant that the airport needed a means of identifying and dealing with car park cheats.
