Over 6,000 drivers caught misusing mobile phones in three months

The introduction of tougher penalties for misusing a mobile phone while driving resulted in more than 6,000 drivers being caught using their devices in the four weeks following the 1 March.

The numbers were obtained by the Press Association under the Freedom of Information Act (FOI).
