Bill enabling councils to reduce parking costs without notice wins Lords’ backing

Local authorities are to get the ability to set change the price of parking without having to give a 21-day notice period after a Private Member’s Bill completed its passage through Parliament.

The Parking Places (Variation of Charges) Bill, devised by Conservative MP David Tredinnick, was passed by the House of Lords on 21 March.
