A Dundee councillor is backing a proposal from residents in the city's West End for cut-price annual permits to be introduced at underused car parks to stop commuters parking on-street.

A new annual permit of £365 would persuade workers to use car parks rather than parking in residential areas and walking or taking public transport into the city, says Labour councillor Richard McCready.

Currently parking costs are considerably higher - for example, eight hours at the Bell Street car park...
